订单延误客户要求赔偿

一个印度客人,因为交期延误所以要向我们收取罚款,订单交期是收到订金之后15天,延误差不多10天,因为物料回来不良,也跟客人解释了,但是客人还是不同意,然后老板娘宁愿退回订金不做这个客人了,怎么回邮件比较好啊。
附上客人邮件:

Delivery date is ok
but our customer charge penalty from us for late delivery
So you will have to share with us that.
and please final our compensation amount
